Jeannette-Maria Giza (born December 1978) After first studying languages she later discovered her fascination for film. In 2005 she graduated as audio-visual media designer and eventually studied film editing at filmArche Berlin. Since 2008 she is free lance editor.Her documentary ‘Comrade where are you today? – Der Traum der Revolution’ (Director: Kirsi Marie Liimatainen) ran successfully in German movie theatres in 2016.She edits non-fictional formats and tv reports as well as fictional themes: short film ‘Zuhause’ (Director: Friedrich Tietdke) was awarded with Deutscher Nachwuchsfilmpreis.Music videos, cabaret and concert recording and 3DS editing (like ‘Kalif Storch 3D’, Director: Albert Maly-Motta, Paul Stutenbäumer) and live productions add to her experiences. She lives in Berlin with her family.
Born 1965 in Spremberg/Niederlausitz. After apprenticeship as construction worker, jobs at theaters and cultural institutions, studies in Cultural Science, Ethnology and Literature in Leipzig, doctorate in European Ethnology. Working for DOK Leipzig since 1991, film program manager from 2014 till Feb. 2017. Also, since 1998, working for ‘Festival des osteuropäischen Films Cottbus’ (festival of the east-european film), leading the German-Sorbian section ‘Heimat | Domownja’. Has curated numerous film series, e.g. with ‘DOK Leipzig’, ‘Akademie der Künste Berlin’, ‘GoEast Festival Wiesbaden’ and for ‘Goethe Institute’ worldwide. Lectureships at various high schools and institutes, mentor and tutor with trainee programs, coproducing documentaries and publications, dramaturg, journalist and film critic. Founded German-Sorbian network ‘Netzwerk Lausitzer Filmschaffender’ in 2015 and film initiative ‘Festivalarbeit gerecht gestalten’ in 2016, member of ‚BKM-Jury Dokumentarfilm’.
Zora Rux, born 1988 in Berlin, is studying direction at dffb since 2011. In 2015 she was fellow at Columbia University NY. During her studies she worked for German and international production companies, e.g. casting for Roy Andersson’s „Eine Taube sitzt auf einem Zweig“, assistant director and translator for several Swedish documentaries. Her short films „Geschützter Raum“ and „What happens in your brain if you see a german word like…?“ are presented and rewarded at festivals worldwide. Her first feature-length film „ICH ICH ICH“ is in it’s post production phase.
The best documentary film will be awarded by the „International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film“ with the „Docu Clip“.
The „Ziegler Film“ production will give a hands-on training at their next production of a cinema/TV film.
And the Youth Cinema Network will give the YCN Award in three age categories for films nominated by YCN partners.
