We don’t accept links without possibility for a download (Youtube is accepted if there are no restrictions of rights, i.e. a download is possible). We don’t accept links for download, where it is necessary to register the REC-Filmfestival Berlin to any provider (for example „Dropbox“).
Here are the details:
REC-Filmfestival Berlin takes place from the 16th to the 20th of September 2020.
We invite all young filmmakers to take part in the REC-Filmfestival Berlin. Everyone from age 6 to 25 who has made films – on his own or in a group – is welcome to participate in the REC-Filmfestival Berlin. The age of the filmmaker in the year of origin of the production matters. Multiple entries are allowed, provided that the film has been made between 2018 and 2020. There is no thematic or formal restriction, nor limit of length. The films should be in english language or english subtitled. (For submitting an english dialog list is ok, but for screening we need an english version or english subtitles.) We do not charge entry fee.
Submit every film with a completed entry form. Fill in the entry form at: filmfestivals4u.net After submitting your data at filmfestivals4u.net, you can provide your films as downloads. Deadline for entries is the 15th of June 2020.
Viewing copies and download-links
For viewing we need standard-files like mpeg4, or h264. The files shouldn’t exceed 100 MB per minute of video. If we will select the film for the program and we need a higher resolution, we will contact you.
Download-links have to be valid until the end of the festival. We don’t accept links without possibility for a download (Youtube is accepted if there are no restrictions of rights). We don’t accept links for download, where it is necessary to register the REC-Filmfestival Berlin to any provider (for example „Dropbox“).
Text and descriptions
The text you give us as film description will be used for the catalogue. This text must not be longer than 1100 charakters. Our editorial department reserves the right to cut or edit the text.
By submitting a film the presenter declares to be the owner of the rights in the work submitted. The presenter accepts that the data of the films will be published (for example in catalogue and program) and that a short film scene could be published for festival-presentations (for example in a festival-trailer).
All declarations concerning the film and its producer (for example age of filmmaker and year of producing) have to be true. If that is not the case, the decisions of the selection committee and the jury can be retracted.
With the submitting form and the signature the presenter accepts the regulations.
Jury and awards
An independent committee will preselect the films taking part in the competition. A jury will award the three best films with an award.
All decisions by the pre-selection jury and the festival jury are final and may not be contested. Film makers whose entries have been selected for competition will be informed by email only. Therefore, please make sure to provide a valid email address with your submission. If the producers of awarded films are not present at the awarding ceremony, they will be informed by email. If money is combined with the award, it will not be paid, if the winner is not present at the awarding ceremony (if the expenditures for travelling are reasonable, for example for participants from Berlin and Berlin-region).
For every film that will be in our program we will give a financial aid for accommodation for one filmmaker during the festival. For the filmmaker and further guests we can recommend cheap accommodation on request.
