REC 2016 – the program

The 25th REC-Filmfestival will take place in the wonderful ufaFabrik in Berlin-Tempelhof from the

14th to 18th of September 2016

More than 500 films from 35 countries were submitted, that’s about 80 hours of video. For our program we selected 59 films from 14 countries.

At a glance:
REC Internationales junges Filmfestival (competition: films from youth, age 16 to 27)
Wednesday, 6 p.m. (afterwards: Opening ceremony)
Thursday + Friday, at 7:00 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.

REC for Kids (competition: films from kids, age 6 to 15)
Wednesday to Friday, 9:00 a.m.:  for visitors from 6 to 10
Wednesday to Friday, 11:00 a.m.:  for visitors from 11 to 15

Wednesday, 8:15 p.m.: Opening ceremony

Saturday, 2 p.m.: Family program
Saturday, 4 p.m.: Awarding ceremony, the jury will present the Golden and Silver Clips. And the „International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film“ will give the „Doku-Clip“ for the best documentary.

Beside the film program there will be interesting workshops:
„Do it yourself – Animation for kids“ (staged by Studio DA and the Zuckerwattenkrawatten-Kreativstudio)
„Professional Steadycam“ (staged by CIMDATA)
„International Exchange with films from twin towns“

REC 2016 – more than 500 entries

The deadline for entries had been on the 19th of June 2016.
We have received more than 500 films from more than 20 countries.
Now we are selecting the films for the program. Midst of July we will publish here the program of the REC-Filmfestival 2016.

Awards Ceremony!

Yesterday the last films were shown in the competition. In this moment the jury-members of our two festival categories are deliberating about the winners. At 4pm they will be announced at UfaFabrik.

The next REC-Filmfestival will take place from the 14th to the 18th of September 2016
It will be the 25th REC-Filmfestival! Submit your films now!


After the first films of the „REC for Kids“ section we will continue with the program for the older ones this afternoon. We sincerely want to invite you to the opening ceremony at 8:30pm.

The program 2015

We made it!

This year we needed some more time for the selection, because we received a lot more entries than 2014. This year it was more than 550 entries from 34 countries, in total that was about 85 hours playtime.

Deadline for entries

The deadline for entries for the REC-Filmfestival 2015 has passed, no more films can be submitted for this year.

Now we are starting to watch all films and make the selection for our competition. That will need some time – we have received far more than 500 entries!
About midst of August the program will be ready, then you will find it here.

We are looking forward to see you on the REC-Filmfestival, which will take place from the 30th of September to the 3rd of October 2015!
