The 26th REC-Filmfestival took place in the wonderful ufaFabrik in Berlin-Tempelhof from the 20th to 24th of September 2017

We had received more than 700 films from 36 countries. We have selected 69 films from 19 countries – here you will find the REC Filmfestival 2017 – Program in English

At a glance:
Competition: REC for Kids (films from kids, age 6 to 15)
Wednesday to Friday, 9:00 a.m.: for visitors from 6 to 10
Wednesday to Friday, 11:00 a.m.: for visitors from 11 to 15
Competition: REC Internationales junges Filmfestival (films from youth, age 16 to 27)
Wednesday, 6 p.m. (afterwards: Opening ceremony)
Thursday + Friday, at 7:00 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.
Wednesday, 8:15 p.m.: Opening ceremony
Saturday, 2 p.m.: Family program
Saturday, 4 p.m.: Awarding ceremony, the jury will present the Golden and Silver Clips. The „International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film“ will give the „Doku-Clip“ for the best documentary. And the „Ziegler Film“ production will give a hands-on training at their next production of a cinema/TV film. The Youth Cinema Network will give the YCN Award in three age categories for films nominated by YCN partners.
Afterwards the awarded films will be screened.
Beside the film program there will be interesting workshops:
„Do it yourself – Animation for kids“ (staged by Studio DA and the Zuckerwattenkrawatten-Kreativstudio)
„Radiostudio“ – make your own radio program (staged by Outreach-Jugendradio)
„Professional Filmproduction“ – a lecture by Mrs. Dr. Regina Ziegler
„Professional Steadycam“ (staged by CIMDATA)
„International Exchange with films from twin towns“
During the festival also will take place the annual meeting of YCN (Youth Cinema Network), a European network of youthfilmfestivals and mediacenters. An good opportunity to meet festival representatives and mediapedagogics from all over Europe. More about YCN
Also during the REC-Filmfestival the YCN awards will be given for for the best talented young European filmmakers.
The REC Filmfestival is hosted by the „Jugend- and Familienstiftung des Landes Berlin“, the non-profit association „PUMA e.V.“ with it’s mediacenter „Clip“ and the non-profit association „outreach gGmbH – Projekt Network“.
