In the Jury for REC for Kids (competition age 6 to 15) this year are:
André Hörmann, born in 1975 in Bremen. 1997 – 2000 he studied social science and national economics at „Humboldt-Universität Berlin“, subsequently till 2006 he studied film and television direction at „HFF ‚Konrad Wolff’“ in Potsdam-Babelsberg. Since 2007 he has been a Freelancer author, director and lecturer e.g. at FHH ‚Konrad Wolff’ in Potsdam, FU Berlin, Universität Ulm and Film Institute ‚Whistling Woods International’ in Mumbai.
Since last Year André Hörmann is participating in a Screenwriting Professionals Programm at the University of California (UCLA) in Los Angeles.

Jürgen Macpolowski worked 40 years at the „Youth and Family Assistance“ of Bezirksamt Tempelhof-Schöneberg of Berlin as child and youth educator, media pedagogue and head of the „media center Clip“. He is cofounder of the „Berliner Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Medienarbeit e.V.“ (working group media) and member of the board of GMK -Gesellschaft für Medienpädagogik und Kommunikationskultur (Society for Media Education and Communication Culture) for many years.
He initiated the Berliner Medienfestival for Children and Youth in 1992 which has become over the years an international junior film festival, now named as REC Filmfestival Berlin.
He is head of the Jugendzentrum (Youth Center) since 1973 (named Media Center Clip since 1989).
In the beginning of the 80s he started the setup of a media section, with numerous purchases in the following years, shifting focus towards media from 1986 on. Regular broadcastings at Offener Kanal Berlin, workshops, various film pojects, school projects and initializing of the Berliner Medienfestival for children and youth, which started as a regional amateur festival and evolved into the international REC Filmfestival Berlin.
Julia Ziegler was born near the Bodensee in 1976. She studied society and business communication management at „Universität der Künste Berlin“ and subsequently did voluntary work at Evangelische Journalistenschule Berlin. She worked as freelance journalist with the cultural tv programme ‚aspekte‘, the Swiss news magazine ‚Facts‘, Berlin daily ‚Tagesspiegel‘ and ‚Netzzeitung‘. Being on the payroll of Pestalozzi-Fröbel-Haus, a provider of educational institutions, she is responsible for public relations.
